Another Renewal of De-Cluttering Energy I admit I’ve let my de-cluttering goals slide over the past several months. I’ve been pro-occupied with animal companions’ health concerns and an increase in work-related travel. However, a simple act of re-arranging furniture, coupled with an upcoming annual Bulky Item pick-up day has kicked my de-cluttering efforts back in gear. (read more) Emotional De-Cluttering When Traveling Work-related travel can be very stressful what with flight delays and missed connections and “confirmed” hotel reservations which apparently are not. There’s also the stress of continuing your work when you’re away from the familiar surroundings that help you feel grounded and facilitate productive working time. All that emotional clutter gets in the way and you can end up feeling drained of all energy by the end of your trip. (read more) Releasing 30 Year-Old Clutter After completing my income tax returns for the year, I decided that this would be the year I would file away the paperwork right away, instead of letting it linger on the top of the file cabinet or sit in a neat stack on the edge of the dining room table for a few months until it was finally filed away in the income tax filing box. While I was putting the paperwork away, I decided to also take the time to declutter just one of the other boxes of paperwork that still reside in the office closet. Perhaps you're also finding it challenging to increase your savings in a time when gasoline, food, and municipal utilities and services are all undergoing double-digit increases. I've accepted a new position within the National Offices of the organization I currently work for, and will be moving my physical workspace to a different building. Facing the Financial Clutter: This past month, I've been clearing out the clutter of old files in my desk drawers to make room for the active files I'm currently using. I'd hoped to have it completed by now, however it's not.. Maintaining Focus: Maybe it's the run of cold, wet weather we've been having. Maybe it's the short days. Maybe it's the influx of mental clutter.. (read more) It's not always clutter; that it's OK to hang on to items that one loves, and just be encouraged to incorporate them into one's life in a new way somehow. De-Cluttering Disaster? The Waste Management Company in my area allows for one bulky item pick-up each year. I'd been mentally building the pile of clutter I would get rid of for several months.. Underneath the Clutter: I was a little stunned to realize the other day that I started decluttering my house about a year ago - stunned, because it seems to me that there's still lots of clutter to deal with.
